Ok who am I?
My name is Mike Dodds and I’ve been painting miniature figures off and on for quite a few years. According to
some sarcastic people I was responsible for the cave paintings at Lescaux, but I’m not quite that old! (Even though
some mornings I feel it)
I’ve been
entering the UK Golden Deamon competitions since 1995, and have managed to achieve Finalist places quite a few times.
First time in 2000, and most years since then.
I've won a couple of Local competitions and the Warhammer Fantasy category at Conflict Manchester 2003. (You’ll
be able to see these miniatures in the Gallery)
I’ve also freelanced for White Dwarf and have one of my figures accepted and used in the Warhammer Dwarf Army
Book as well as painting for my local GW Store.
I've had miniatures showcased in Harbinger magazine (Issues 13 & 14) and also had a review of a miniature printed
in Harbinger issue 13.
In 2007 I managed
to take a Second Place at Salute in the Fantasy section of their competition.
I have painted a few commission pieces and am always willing to consider most painting requests.
I was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne and even though
I no longer live there I still consider myself a Geordie, even if the accent has had to be diluted to allow people to understand
me. There are a number of pictures in a separate gallery of Newcastle, taken on a cold bright February day, which show some
of the older parts of the city.
The Link
for these pictures is to the side.
